Hadith 1819
١٨١٩ - حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن عمرو الأوزاعي عن حسان ابن عطية قال: (يقال) (١): الوضوء شطر الإيمان، والسواك شطر الوضوء (٢)، ولولا أن أشق على أمتي، لأمرتهم بالسواك عند كل صلاة، (ركعتان) (٣) يستاك فيهما العبد أفضل من سبعين ركعة لا يستاك فيها.
It is narrated from Hazrat Hassan bin Atiyyah (that the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said): Wudu is a part of faith, and miswak is a part of wudu. If I did not fear hardship for my ummah, I would have commanded them to use the miswak before every prayer. The two rak'ahs performed after using the miswak are seventy times superior to those rak'ahs performed without using the miswak.
