Hadith 18108
١٨١٠٨ - حدثنا معتمر عن داود (١) أبي (الهيثم) (٢) قال: قال رجل لابن سيرين (استقبل القبلة) (٣) في الطريق: أليس (لي) (٤) النظرة الأولى، ثم أصرف عنها بصري؟ قال: أما تقرأ القرآن: ﴿يَغُضُّوا مِنْ أَبْصَارِهِمْ﴾ [النور: ٣٠]، ﴿يَعْلَمُ خَائِنَةَ الْأَعْيُنِ وَمَا تُخْفِي الصُّدُورُ﴾ [غافر: ١٩].
Hazrat Abu Haitham (may Allah have mercy on him) says that a man asked Hazrat Ibn Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him): "If a woman comes before me on the road and I turn my gaze away from her, will I be sinful?" He replied: "Do you not read the Qur'an? Allah Almighty says: Tell the believers to lower their gaze, and Allah Almighty says: Allah knows the betrayal of the eyes."
