Hadith 1804
١٨٠٤ - حدثنا أبو خالد الأحمر عن (حرام) (١) بن عثمان عن أبي عتيق عن جابر قال: كان يستاك إذا أخذ مضجعه، وإذا قام من الليل، وإذا خرج إلى الصبح قال فقلت له: قد شققت على (نفسك) (٢) بهذا السواك؟ فقال إن أسامة أخبرني: أن رسول اللَّه ﷺ كان يستاك هذا السواك (٣).
Hazrat Abu Atiq says that I saw Hazrat Jabir using the miswak before sleeping, after waking up, and when going for the Fajr prayer. I asked him why he put himself through so much effort! He replied that Hazrat Usama had told him that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also used to use the miswak in the same way.
