Hadith 17958
١٧٩٥٨ - حدثنا وكيع قال: (نا) (١) إسماعيل عن قيس عن عبد اللَّه قال: كنا مع النبي ﷺ ونحن شباب قال فقلنا: يا رسول اللَّه! ألا نستخصي؟ قال: "لا"، ثم رخص لنا أن ننكح المرأة بالثوب إلى الأجل ثم قرأ عبد اللَّه: ﴿يَاأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تُحَرِّمُوا طَيِّبَاتِ مَا أَحَلَّ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ﴾ [المائدة: ٨٧] (٢)
Hazrat Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that once, during our youth, we were with the Prophet ﷺ. Troubled by (the intensity of desire), we requested the Prophet ﷺ that we wished to castrate ourselves. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Do not do so," and then he permitted us to marry a woman for a specified period in exchange for a garment. Then Hazrat Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) recited this verse: O you who believe! Do not make unlawful the good things which Allah has made lawful for you.
