Hadith 17872
١٧٨٧٢ - حدثنا ابن علية عن ابن جريج عن عمرو بن (دينار) (١) عن عكرمة عن ابن عباس قال: رضي اللَّه بالعفو وأمر به، فإن عفت عفت؛ كان أبت وعفا وليها جاز وإن أبت (٢).
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates that Allah Almighty is pleased with giving extra, and Allah has commanded this. If the woman forgives, it will be forgiven, and if she refuses, then her guardian can forgive; the forgiveness of the guardian will be effective even if the woman refuses.
