Hadith 1784
١٧٨٤ - حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن عبد الملك بن ميسرة عن سعيد بن جبير قال: اختلفت أنا وأناس من العرب في اللمس، فقلت أنا وأناس من الموالي: ⦗٣٥٨⦘ اللمس ما دون الجماع، وقالت العرب: هو الجماع، فأتينا ابن عباس فقال: غلبت العرب، هو الجماع (١).
Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair says that there was a disagreement between me and some Arabs regarding "lamas". I and some mawali used to say that it refers to an act less than intercourse, while the Arabs used to say that it refers to intercourse. We went to Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) for a decision, and he said that the Arabs have prevailed; by this, intercourse is meant.
