Hadith 17781
١٧٧٨١ - حدثنا (عبدة) (١) (بن) (٢) سليمان عن هشام بن عروة عن عاصم بن المنذر قال: سألت عروة عن قوله: ﴿الزَّانِي لَا يَنْكِحُ إِلَّا زَانِيَةً أَوْ مُشْرِكَةً﴾، قال: كن نساء بغايا في الجاهلية لهن رايات يعرفن بها.
Hazrat Urwah, in the explanation of the verse of the Holy Qur'an { اَلزَّانِیْ لَا یَنْکِحُ اِلَّا زَانِیَۃً }, states that it refers to those women who were immoral during the Age of Ignorance. They used to have specific flags by which they were recognized.
