Hadith 17773
١٧٧٧٣ - حدثنا (عبيد اللَّه) (١) عن إسرائيل عن (السدي) (٢) عن عبد اللَّه بن شداد في قوله: ﴿وَلَا أَنْ تَبَدَّلَ بِهِنَّ مِنْ أَزْوَاجٍ﴾، قال: (ذلك لو طلقهن) (٣) لم يحل له أن يستبدل.
Hazrat Abdullah bin Shaddad, in the commentary of the verse of the Holy Qur'an { وَلاَ أَنْ تَبَدَّلَ بِہِنَّ مِنْ أَزْوَاجٍ }, states that it means if the Prophet divorces his wives, it is not permissible to replace those women. As for marriage, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) married even after the revelation of this verse. When this verse was revealed, there were nine women in his marriage, then he married Hazrat Umm Habibah and Hazrat Juwayriyyah (may Allah be pleased with them both).
