Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Qasim, regarding the verse of the Holy Qur'an { وَلاَ جُنَاحَ عَلَیْکُمْ فِیمَا عَرَّضْتُمْ بِہِ مِنْ خِطْبَۃِ النِّسَائِ }: "And there is no blame upon you for proposing to women [indirectly] during their waiting period," states that during the waiting period, a man may say to a woman that he likes her and is interested in her, and he may use such words.
