Hadith 17691
١٧٦٩١ - حدثنا أبو الأحوص عن منصور عن مجاهد عن ابن عباس ﴿وَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِيمَا عَرَّضْتُمْ بِهِ مِنْ خِطْبَةِ النِّسَاءِ﴾ قال: يعرض الرجل فيقول: إني أريد أن أتزوج، ولا ينصب لها في الخطبة (١).
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them), regarding the verse of the Holy Qur'an { وَلاَ جُنَاحَ عَلَیْکُمْ فِیمَا عَرَّضْتُمْ بِہِ مِنْ خِطْبَۃِ النِّسَائِ }: "And there is no blame upon you for proposing to women [in waiting]," says that when a man gives a marriage proposal, he will say, "I wish to marry," and in the proposal he will not specify that particular woman.
