المرأة يأبى وليها أن يزوجهاRuling if a Woman’s Guardian Refuses to Marry Her Off
Hadith 16763
١٦٧٦٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا ابن إدريس عن شعبة عن زياد بن علاقة قال: خطب رجل سيدة من بني ليث ثيبًا، فأبى أبوها أن يزوجها، فكتبت إلى عثمان، ⦗١٨٤⦘ فكتب عثمان: إن كان كفؤًا فقولوا لأبيها: أن يزوجها فإن أبى أبوها فزوجوها. (١)
Hazrat Ziyad bin Alaqah narrates that a man sent a marriage proposal to a previously married woman from the tribe of Banu Laith. Her father refused to marry her off. The woman wrote a letter to Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), so Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote a letter and ordered that if the man is a suitable match for the woman, then tell her father to marry her off. If he does not arrange the marriage, then still have her married.
