Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when I returned from Bahrain, I met a group of people from Iraq. They asked me whether a game hunted by a halal (non-pilgrim) person could be eaten by a muhrim (person in the state of ihram). I gave them the verdict that it is permissible to eat. Then I went to Hazrat Umar and sought his opinion regarding this matter. He said, "You have given the correct verdict. If you had given them any other verdict, no one would ever take a verdict from you again."
