Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abdur Rahman narrates that once I intended to perform Hajj, so I met Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Amr bin Al-Aas. When the time for Ihram came, we had some fragrance applied to us. Hazrat Abdur Rahman said to me: I thought you would not do this. Indeed, once I performed Hajj with Hazrat Usman bin Abu Al-Aas, and at the place of Manjashaniyyah, which is near Basra, he put on Ihram. He said to us: You have traces of white clay on you, so wash your heads before putting on Ihram.
