It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "I am ruined." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "Who has ruined you?" He replied, "I had lawful relations with my wife during Ramadan." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Free a slave." He replied, "I do not find a slave." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then fast for two consecutive months." He replied, "I do not have the strength for that." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then feed sixty needy people." He replied, "I do not find that either." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Sit down." So he sat down. In the meantime, some dates were brought to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him, "Take this and give it as charity." He replied, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! By Him Who sent you with the truth, there is no house between the two valleys of Madinah more in need than ours." Upon hearing this, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled so much that his blessed teeth became visible, then said, "Take it and feed it to your family."
