Hadith 12692
١٢٦٩٢ - حدثنا عبد الرحيم عن يحيى بن سعيد عن القاسم قال: كان أبو بكر ﵁ (١) إذا حلف لم يحنث، حتى نزلت (هذه) (٢) الآية: ﴿لَا يُؤَاخِذُكُمُ اللَّهُ بِاللَّغْوِ فِي أَيْمَانِكُمْ﴾ [البقرة: ٢٢٥]، فكان إذا حلف (٣) على يمين فرأى غيرها خيرا منها أتى الذي هو خير وكفّر عن يمينه (٤).
Hazrat Qasim narrates that whenever Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq took an oath, he would not break it until the verse of the Holy Qur'an was revealed, { لَا یُؤَاخِذُکُمُ اللّٰہُ بِاللَّغْوِ فِیْ اَیْمَانِکُمْ } Then, when he took an oath and saw something better than it, he would do that better thing and offer expiation for his oath.
