الرجل يكلف بغير الله أو بأبيهIf someone swears by other than Allah or by his father
Hadith 12664
١٢٦٦٤ - حدثنا أبو الأحوص عن سماك عن عكرمة قال: قال عمر: (حدثت) (١) قومًا حديثًا، فقلت: لا؛ وأبي، فقال رجل من خلفي: " (لا تحلفوا) (٢) بآبائكم"، (قال) (٣): فالتفت (فإذا) (٤) رسول اللَّه ﷺ فقال: "لو أن أحدكم حلف بالمسيح لهلك، والمسيح خير من آبائكم" (٥).
Hazrat Umar says that I spoke to a people about something and then I said, "No, by my father's oath." A person from behind me said: "Do not swear by your forefathers." When I turned towards him, I saw that it was the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If a person swears by Jesus, he is ruined, even though Jesus is better and superior to your forefathers."
