الرجل يكلف بغير الله أو بأبيهIf someone swears by other than Allah or by his father
Hadith 12661
١٢٦٦١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة عن الزهري عن سالم عن أبيه قال سمع النبي ﷺ عمر (١) (يقول) (٢): وأبي (وأبي) (٣) فقال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "إن اللَّه ينهاكم أن تحلفوا بآبائكم"، فقال عمر: واللَّه لا حلفت بها لا ذاكرًا ولا آثرًا (٤).
Hazrat Salim narrates from his father that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard that Hazrat Umar was swearing by his father. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Surely Allah Almighty has forbidden you from swearing by your forefathers. Hazrat Umar said: By Allah, I have neither intentionally nor unintentionally sworn by my forefathers.
