Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Saeed bin Ubaid and Hazrat Muhammad bin Qais say that we heard from Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) bin Rabee’ah al-Walabi that in Kufa, the first person over whom lamentation was performed was Qarza bin Ka’b al-Ansari. Hazrat Mughirah bin Shu’bah stood up and said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever laments over the deceased, because of that lamentation, the deceased is punished in the grave.
