Hadith 12462
١٢٤٦٢ - حدثنا عبد اللَّه بن نمير عن عبد اللَّه بن عطاء عن ابن بريدة عن أبيه قال: كنت جالسًا عند النبي ﷺ إذ جاءته امرأة فقالت له: (إنه) (١) كان على أمي ⦗٢٤٤⦘ صوم شهرين (أفيجزي) (٢) عنها أن أصوم عنها؟ قال: "نعم" قالت: فإن أمي لم تحج قط (أفيجزى) (٣) أن أحج عنها؟ قال: "نعم" (٤).
Hazrat Buraidah narrates from his father that I was sitting in the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when a woman came and said: My mother had two months of fasts due; is it sufficient if I fast on her behalf? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes. She then said: My mother never performed Hajj; is it sufficient (permissible) if I perform Hajj on her behalf? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes.
