Hadith 12452
١٢٤٥٢ - حدثنا هشيم عن حجاج عن (عمرو) (١) بن (شعيب) (٢) عن أبيه عن جده أنه سأل النبي ﷺ فقال: يا رسول اللَّه إن (العاص) (٣) بن وائل كان يأمر في الجاهلية أن ينحر مائة بدنة، وإن هشام بن (العاص) (٤) نحر حصته من ذلك خمسين بدنة أفأنحر؟ عنه فقال: "إن أباك لو كان أقر بالتوحيد (فصمت عنه) (٥) أو تصدقت (عنه) (٦) أو (أعتقت) (٧) عنه بلغه ذلك" (٨).
Hazrat Amr bin Shu'aib narrates from his father and grandfather that they asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! As bin Wa'il had ordered in the time of ignorance that a hundred camels be slaughtered, and Hisham bin Al-As had slaughtered fifty camels as his share. Should I slaughter on his behalf? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If your father had affirmed the oneness of Allah, then he will receive reward from your fasting, giving charity, and freeing slaves on his behalf.
