ما قالوا في التكبير على الجنازة من كبر أربعاSome scholars hold that there are four takbirs in the funeral prayer
Hadith 11787
١١٧٨٧ - حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن عامر بن شقيق عن أبي وائل قال: جمع عمر الناس فاستشارهم في التكبير على الجنازة فقال بعضهم: كبر رسول اللَّه خمسًا، وقال بعضهم: كبر سبعًا، وقال بعضهم: كبر أربعًا، (قال) (١): فجمعهم على أربع تكبيرات كأطول الصلاة (٢).
Hazrat Abu Wa'il narrates that Hazrat Umar gathered the companions and consulted them regarding the number of takbirs in the funeral prayer. Some of them said that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite five takbirs, some said he used to recite seven takbirs, and some said he used to recite four takbirs. The narrator says that then all of them agreed upon four takbirs.
