Hadith 11460
١١٤٦٠ - حدثنا زيد بن الحباب قال: أخبرنا معاوية بن صالح قال: (حدثنا) (١) سعيد بن هانيء عن عمير بن الأسود (السكوني) (٢) أن معاذ بن جبل أوصى (امرأته) (٣) وخرج فماتت وكفناها في ثياب لها خلقان، فقدم (بعد أن رفعنا) (٤) أيدينا عن قبرها (ساعتئذ) (٥) فقال: (فيم) (٦) كفنتموها؟ قلنا: في ثيابها الخلقان، فنبشها وكفنها في ثياب جدد وقال: أحسنوا أكفان موتاكم فإنهم يحشرون فيها (٧).
It is narrated from Hazrat Umair bin Aswad al-Sakuni that Hazrat Mu'adh bin Jabal advised his wife and departed. His wife passed away, and she was shrouded in old clothes. When we had lifted her on our hands to bury her, he arrived and asked, "In which cloth have you shrouded her?" We replied, "In old clothes." So he uncovered her and shrouded her in new clothes and said: "Give your dead good and fine shrouds, for surely they will be gathered in them."
