Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Saeed bin Abu Burdah that Hazrat Abu Musa Ash'ari went to visit Hazrat Hussain bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) to inquire about his health. Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Have you come for a visit or to inquire about his health?" He replied, "For a visit." So Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Whatever is in your heart, in any case, the thought of the heart cannot prevent me from saying this: When a person leaves his house to inquire about the health of a sick person, mercy covers him, he enters into mercy, and when he reaches the patient and sits by him, then again mercy covers him and he becomes immersed in mercy. And when he returns after inquiring about the patient's health, seventy thousand angels pray for his forgiveness for the entire day, and if he visits at night, he still attains this status until morning, and for him are the fruits of Paradise."
