Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Umar al-Dhabi narrates that in our area of Sabur, some people from a certain community were digging the ground when suddenly they found a treasure. Their supervisor was Muhammad bin Jabir al-Rasbi. He wrote about this to Hazrat 'Adi, and Hazrat 'Adi wrote to Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz. Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz wrote back that the khums (one-fifth) should be collected from it, a declaration of clearance should be written for them, and the rest should be left for them. (When this letter was received,) they returned the wealth and the khums was collected from it.
