Hadith 10759
١٠٧٥٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن محمد بن عقبة عن القاسم قال: كان أبو بكر إذا أعطى (الناس) (١) العطاء (سأل) (٢) (الرجل: ألك) (٣) مال؟ (فإن) (٤) قال: نعم. زكى ماله من عطائه وإلا سلم له عطاءه (٥).
It is narrated from Hazrat Qasim that whenever Hazrat Siddiq Akbar granted a stipend to someone from the treasury, he would ask him whether he possessed any wealth. If the answer was yes, he would deduct zakat from the amount of the stipend; otherwise, he would hand it over to him.
