`Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that` the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) combined the Zuhr and Asr prayers and the Maghrib and Isha prayers in Madinah without fear or rain. In Waki’s narration, it is mentioned that I asked Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), “Why did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) do this?” He replied, “So that his Ummah would not face hardship.” And in the hadith of Abu Muawiyah, it is mentioned that Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) was asked, “With what intention did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) do this?” He replied, “He did it with the intention that his Ummah should not face difficulty.”
