Aishah bint Abi Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with them both), wife of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) (he gave her the kunyah Umm Abdullah after Abdullah bin al-Zubayr; the mother of Aishah and her brother Abd al-Rahman was Umm Ruman bint Amir bin Uwaymir bin Abd Shams bin Abd Manaf bin Udhaynah bin Subay' bin Dahman bin al-Harith bin Abd bin Malik)

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الْحَنَّاطُ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْأَسَدِيُّ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى السَّاجِيُّ، ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: " تَزَوَّجَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا بِنْتُ سِتِّ سِنِينَ، وَبَنَى بِي وَأَنَا بِنْتُ تِسْعِ سِنِينَ، وَبَنَى عَلَيَّ فِي شَوَّالٍ، فَأَيُّ نِسَائِكُمْ كَانَ أَحْظَى مِنِّي؟، وَكَانَتْ تَسْتَحِبُّ أَنْ تَدْخُلَ نِسَاؤُهَا فِي شَوَّالٍ
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married me when I was six years old, and the marriage was consummated when I was nine years old, and I was sent to him as a bride in Shawwal. So which of your women was more fortunate than I was? And she liked the women of her family to be sent to their husbands as brides in Shawwal.
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ نَائِلَةَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَرَادَةَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي دَاوُدَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ فِيمَنْ يَكْرَهُ الزواجَ فِي شَوَّالٍ: «تَزَوَّجَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي شَوَّالٍ، وَأُدْخِلْتُ عَلَيْهِ فِي شَوَّالٍ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that, concerning those who disliked marrying in Shawwal, she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married me in Shawwal, and I was also sent to him as a bride in Shawwal.
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا الزُّبَيْرُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَسَنٍ، عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ حَفْصٍ، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «تَزَوَّجَ عَائِشَةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ فِي شَوَّالٍ، وَأَعْرَسَ بِهَا بِالْمَدِينَةِ فِي شَوَّالٍ عَلَى رَأْسِ سِتَّةَ عَشَرَ شَهْرًا مِنْ مُهَاجَرِهِ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ، وَتُوُفِّيَتْ عَائِشَةُ لَيْلَةَ الثُّلَاثَاءِ لِسَبْعَ عَشْرَةَ مَضَتْ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ بَعْدَ الْوِتْرِ سَنَةَ ثَمَانٍ وَخَمْسِينَ، وَدُفِنَتْ مِنْ لَيْلَتِهَا»
Ibn Shihab said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married Sayyidah Aishah bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) in Shawwal, and he also consummated the marriage with her in Madinah in Shawwal, at the completion of sixteen months after his emigration to Madinah. Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) passed away on the night of Tuesday, after seventeen days of Ramadan had passed, after the witr prayer, in the year 58 AH, and she was buried that same night.
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا الزُّبَيْرُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَسَنٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، وَغَيْرِهِ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ، قَالُوا: صَلَّيْنَا عَلَى عَائِشَةَ، وَأُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجَيِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَسَطَ الْبَقِيعِ، وَالْإِمَامُ يَوْمَ صَلَّيْنَا عَلَى عَائِشَةَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ، وَحَضَرَ ذَلِكَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، وَدَخَلَ فِي قَبْرِ عَائِشَةَ عَبْدُ اللهِ وَعُرْوَةُ ابْنَا مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، وَمَاتَتْ سَنَةَ ثَمَانٍ وَخَمْسِينَ فِي رَمَضَانَ لِسَبْعَ عَشْرَةَ مَضَتْ مِنْهُ بَعْدَ الْوِتْرِ، وَدُفِنَتْ مِنْ لَيْلَتِهَا "
Nafi' and other people of knowledge said: We offered the funeral prayer for Sayyidah Aishah and Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with them both), the two wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), in the middle of al-Baqi'. On the day we offered the funeral prayer for Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) led the prayer, and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) was present on that occasion. Abdullah and Urwah, the two sons of Muhammad bin Abi Bakr, and Abdullah bin Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Bakr went down into the grave of Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her). She passed away in the year 58 AH, after seventeen days of Ramadan had passed, after the witr prayer, and she was buried that same night.
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ الْبَغَوِيُّ، ثنا كَثِيرُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، ثنا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «اجْتَلَى عَائِشَةَ فِي أَهْلِهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ بِهَا»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked upon Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) adorned as a bride in her family's home before the marriage was consummated.
