Hadith 207
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ النَّصِيبِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَيْمُونُ بْنُ الأَصْبَعِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرُ بْنُ كِدَامٍ ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَجُلٌ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، " هَذَا السَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ قَدْ عَرَفْنَاهُ ، فَكَيْفَ الصَّلاةُ عَلَيْكَ ؟ ، فَقَالَ : قُولُوا : اللَّهُمَّ ، صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ ، وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ ، اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ "، لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ ، إِلا مِسْعَرٌ ، وَلا عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ ، إِلا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ . تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ مَيْمُونُ بْنُ الأَصْبَغِ ، وَلا كَتَبْنَاهُ إِلا عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ
Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: A man said: We have come to know about Salam, how should we send blessings upon you? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Say like this: ﴿Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala aali Muhammad kama sallayta 'ala Ibrahima innaka Hamidun Majid, Allahumma barik 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala aali Muhammad kama barakta 'ala Ibrahima innaka Hamidun Majid﴾ 'O Allah! Send blessings upon Muhammad (peace be upon him) and upon the family of Muhammad as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim (peace be upon him), surely You are Praiseworthy, Glorious. O Allah! Send blessings upon Muhammad (peace be upon him) and upon the family of Muhammad as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim (peace be upon him), surely You are Praiseworthy, Glorious.'"
