Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When Mundhir bin Abi Usaid was born, he was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) placed him on his thigh and asked, “What is his name?” He said: So-and-so. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “No, rather his name is Mundhir.” Agreed upon.
