´It was narrated that Fatimah bint Qais said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prayed one day, and ascended the pulpit, and he never used to ascend it, before that, except on Fridays. The people were alarmed by that, and some were standing and some were sitting. He gestured to them with his hand, telling them to sit. (Then he said:) 'By Allah, I am not standing here for something that will benefit you, an exhortation or warning. Rather Tamim Dari has come to me and told me something that prevented me from taking a rest because of the joy and delight (I felt), and I wanted to spread that joy among you. A cousin of Tamim Dari told me that the wind drove them to an island that they did not know, so they sat in the rowing boats of the ship and set out. There they saw something black, with long eyelashes. They said to it: "What are you?" It said: "I am Jassasah," They said: "Tell us." It said: "I will not tell you anything or ask you anything. Rather there is this monastery that you have looked at. Go to it, for there is a man there who is longing to hear your news and tell you news." So they went there and entered upon him, and they saw an old man firmly shackled, with a sorrowful appearance and complaining a great deal. He said to them: "Where have you come from?" They said: "From Sham." He said: "How are the Arabs faring?" They said: "We are from among the Arabs. What do you want to ask about?" He said: "What has this man done who has appeared among you?" They said: "(He has done) well. He made enemies of some people, but Allah supported him against them and now they have become one, with one God and one religion." He said: "What happened to the spring of Zughar?" They said: "It is good; we irrigate out crops from it and drink from it." He said: "What happened to the date-palms between 'Amman and Baisan?" They said: "They bear fruit every year." He said: "What happened to the Lake of Tiberias?" They said: "It overflows because of the abundance of water." He gave three deep sighs, then he said: "If I were to free myself from these chains, I would not leave any land without entering it on these two feet of mine, except for Taibah, for I have no way to enter it." The Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'My joy is so great. This (Al-Madinah) is Taibah, and by the One in Whose Hand is my soul, there is no narrow or broad road in it, or any plain or mountain, but there is an angel (standing) over it with his sword unsheathed, until the Day of Resurrection.'"

Benefits and Issues:
➊
Our esteemed researcher has declared the rest of the narration, except for the underlined sentences, to be authentic, and has further written that the hadith of Sahih Muslim (2942) suffices for this.
Shaykh al-Albani rahimahullah has also declared the rest of the narration, except for the underlined words, to be authentic. Therefore, the mentioned narration, except for the underlined words, is actionable and a valid proof.
And Allah knows best.
➋
The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would sometimes explain necessary matters after Fajr, for example:
the interpretation of dreams, etc.
However, it was not his practice to deliver a sermon from the pulpit after Fajr.
➌
The reason for the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam being pleased is that he too used to warn about the Dajjal.
The incident of Tamim al-Dari radi Allahu anhu further confirmed this.
In Sahih Muslim, these words are found:
“He told me something that agrees with what I used to tell you about the Masih al-Dajjal.” (Sahih Muslim, Al-Fitan, Chapter: The Story of al-Jassasah, Hadith: 2942)
➍
Regarding al-Jassasah, these words are found in Sahih Muslim:
“Her body was so covered with hair that due to the abundance of hair, it was not possible to discern her front from her back.”
➎
‘Amman and Baysan are two cities of al-Sham (Greater Syria). ‘Amman is the capital of present-day Jordan.
➏
Zughar is a city in al-Sham.
There is a spring near it.
The Lake of Tiberias is in al-Sham.
➐
The Dajjal will not be able to enter Madinah Munawwarah, but there will be three earthquakes in Madinah, and all the disbelievers and hypocrites present in Madinah will leave Madinah and join the Dajjal. (Sahih al-Bukhari, Al-Fitan, Chapter: Mention of the Dajjal, Hadith: 7124)
➑
The Dajjal will also not enter Makkah Mukarramah. (Sahih Muslim, Al-Fitan, Chapter: The Story of al-Jassasah, Hadith: 2942)

Hadith Commentary:
Vocabulary of the Hadith:
(1)
Jassasah:
The one who spies,
because she spies for the Dajjal.
(2)
Fasiba fi awwal al-jihad:
He was martyred in the first jihad.
This is a mistake of the narrator,
because he went to Yemen with Ali,
he died there, and according to some, he died during the caliphate of Umar radi Allahu anhu.
Yes, it is possible that he was wounded in the first jihad with you,
but died later, and participating in battle with you is a praiseworthy act. He had given Fatimah three divorces (talaq) at intervals,
so after the completion of her waiting period (‘iddah),
Muawiyah,
Abu Juhm, and Abdur Rahman bin Awf radi Allahu anhum sent marriage proposals. Therefore, to say that I became his widow is not correct.
He had given her three divorces at intervals, and sent the last divorce from Yemen, and Ali went to Yemen in the tenth year of Hijrah. Abdullah’s father’s name is Amr and his mother’s name is Umm Maktum,
so Ibn Umm Maktum
is an attribute of Abdullah,
not of Amr.
Since he also belonged to their tribe,
he was called a paternal cousin.
(3)
As-salatu jami‘ah:
Both words are attributed,
the first is the object of an omitted verb and the second is a circumstantial qualifier (hal),
or both are nominative,
i.e., hadhihi as-salatu jami‘ah,
or hadhihi as-salatu is nominative and jami‘ah is the circumstantial qualifier. It is not correct to use this hadith as evidence for tathwib (the additional announcement after the adhan),
because these words are said
when people are to be gathered in the mosque at a time that is not the time of prayer. Tamim Dari became Muslim in 9 AH,
he was a monk and worshipper from the people of Palestine, and he alone was honored by the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam narrating the hadith of Jassasah from him.
(4)
Arfaw:
They anchored,
marfa‘,
harbor.
(5)
Aqrab:
Plural of qarib,
which by analogy is qa‘rab,
a small boat,
dinghy.
(6)
Ahlab:
Very hairy,
therefore kathir ash-sha‘r (much hair) is its explanation.
(7)
Dayr:
A monk’s hut,
here it means a palace.
(8)
Al-ashwaq:
Eager,
one who has much longing.
(9)
Wathaq:
Shackles,
bondage.
(10)
Ightalam:
To exceed the limit,
i.e., it was tempestuous.
(11)
Baysan:
A region of Yamamah where there are many date palms,
also a region of Jordan,
but there are not so many dates there.
(12)
Zughar:
A village in the region of Sham,
which, according to Ibn Abbas radi Allahu anhuma, is the name of the younger daughter of Lut alayhis salam,
she is buried there.
(13)
Mahu:
The “ma” is additional for emphasis, indicating that it is certainly towards the east.
