Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet ﷺ said: A time is certainly coming to mankind when only the receiver of usury will remain, and if he does not receive it, some of its vapour will reach him. Ibn Isa said: Some of its dust will reach him.

Benefits and Issues: This narration is weak in its chain of transmission. And in an authentic hadith, it is stated that until the Day of Judgment, there will certainly remain a group that will be dominant upon the truth and steadfast upon it. The aforementioned narration points towards the general state of livelihood. This is now being witnessed in practice, that the entire economy has been trapped in the grip of usury (riba). And to avoid it is an act of great resolve. And the number of those who completely avoid it is very small.
