Benefits and Issues:
➊
Marriage is among the important injunctions of Islam; therefore, remaining unmarried without a valid reason is not permissible.
➋
Having many children is legislatively desirable, because it is a cause of joy for the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). A hadith with this meaning is also narrated from Hazrat Ma’qil bin Yasar (radi Allahu anhu), whose wording is as follows: “Marry the loving and fertile woman, for I will boast of your numbers before the other nations.” (Sunan Abi Dawud, Book of Marriage, Chapter: Prohibition of Marrying Women Who Do Not Bear Children, Hadith: 205)
➌
One can estimate and hope that a woman will have many children by considering the circumstances of her mother, sisters, etc.
