Hadith 1119

´It was narrated that ‘Ubaidullah bin ‘Abdullah said:` “Dahhak bin Qais wrote to Nu’man bin Bashir, saying: ‘Tell us what the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite on Friday along with Surah Al-Jumu’ah.’ He said: ‘He used to recite: “Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e., the Day of Resurrection)?’” [Al-Ghashiyah (88)]

Benefits and Issues:

In this, the recitation of Surah Al-Ghashiyah in the Friday prayer is mentioned.
Whereas in the previous hadith, Surah Al-Jumu‘ah and Surah Al-Munafiqun are mentioned.
From this, it is understood that there is flexibility in the choice of surahs to be recited.

It is permissible to ask and answer questions regarding religious matters in written form.

Written transmission is just as reliable as directly heard hadith, provided there is certainty that the writing is indeed from the stated individual.
