Hadith 922

وعن ابن عباس رضي الله تعالى عنهما عن النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم قال : « إن الله وضع عن أمتي الخطأ والنسيان وما استكرهوا عليه » رواه ابن ماجه والحاكم وقال أبو حاتم : لا يثبت.
Narrated Ibn 'Abbas (RA): The Prophet (ﷺ)) said: "Allah, the Most High, has overlooked my follower's mistakes and forgetfulness, and what they are forced to do against their will." [Reported by Ibn Majah and al-Hakim. Abu Hatim said that it is not an established (authentic) Hadith].

«أجرجه ابن ماجه، الطلاق، باب طلاق المكره والناسي، حديث:2045، والحاكم:2 /198، وصححه علي شرط الشيخين، ووافقه الذهبي، وسنده صحيح، وللحديث شواهد كثيرة.»©Explanation:
This and the preceding hadiths have been mentioned so that it becomes clear that, in such a situation, divorce does not take effect according to the Shari‘ah.
The meaning of the hadith is that if someone is coerced or compelled in any way—whether through threats or intimidation—to pronounce divorce, then according to the Shari‘ah, that divorce will absolutely not take effect.
