Hadith 1623
And Nafi’ narrated that Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to pray two rak’ahs after every seven circuits (of Tawaf). Isma’il bin Umayyah said: I asked Zuhri that Ata used to say that the prayer of Tawaf can also be performed with an obligatory prayer, so he replied: Acting upon the Sunnah is better. It never happened that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) completed seven circuits and did not pray two rak’ahs.
Narrated `Amr: We asked Ibn `Umar: "May a man have sexual relations with his wife during the Umra before performing Tawaf between Safa and Marwa?" He said, "Allah's Apostle arrived (in Mecca) and circumambulated the Ka`ba seven times, then offered two rak`at behind Maqam Ibrahim (the station of Abraham), then performed Tawaf between Safa and Marwa." Ibn `Umar added, "Verily! In Allah's Apostle you have a good example."
What is the ruling if one stops in the middle of performing Tawaf? Regarding a person who was performing Tawaf and the prayer was established, or he was removed from his place, Ata used to say that he should resume from where he left off (i.e., he should start again from the same place). This is also narrated from Ibn Umar and Abdur Rahman bin Abi Bakr, may Allah be pleased with them, in the same manner.
