Hadith 7156

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى هُوَ الْقَطَّانُ ، عَنْ قُرَّةَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي حُمَيْدُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، أَن النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " بَعَثَهُ وَأَتْبَعَهُ بِمُعَاذٍ " .
Narrated Abu Musa: that the Prophet sent him and sent Mu`adh after him (as rulers to Yemen).

Hadith Commentary:

Abu Musa Abdullah bin Qais al-Ash'ari radi Allahu anhu embraced Islam in Makkah and participated in the migration to Abyssinia. Then, along with the People of the Ship, he returned to the service of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam at Khaybar. He passed away in the year 52 AH. Radi Allahu anhu wa ardah.
