Hadith 1732

And Abu al-Zubair narrated from Aisha and Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) delayed the Tawaf al-Ziyarah until night fell. And it is narrated from Abu Hassan that he heard Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) say that the Prophet (peace be upon him) performed the Tawaf al-Ziyarah during the days of Mina.
Narrated Nafi' that Ibn 'Umar (ra) performed only one Tawaf. He would take an afternoon nap and then return to Mina. That was on the day of Nahr (slaughtering).

Hadith Commentary:
(1)
This narration is established from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar radi Allahu anhu both as a mawquf (his own action) and marfu‘ (attributed to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) report.
It is as if Ibn Umar himself acted in this way and also mentioned the practice of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. However, in the marfu‘ narration, it is mentioned that when he returned from there, he performed the Zuhr prayer in Mina.
In the narration of Sahih Muslim, it is stated that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam performed the Zuhr prayer in Makkah Mukarramah.
Muhibb al-Din Tabari has reconciled between these reports as follows:
It is possible that he performed the Zuhr prayer alone in Makkah Mukarramah or Mina, and then led his noble Companions radi Allahu anhum in congregation at the other place.
It is also possible that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam led his Companions radi Allahu anhum in the Zuhr prayer in Mina, then performed the Tawaf al-Ziyarah of the Ka‘bah, and there again led in congregation those of his Companions who had not yet performed the prayer.
(‘Umdat al-Qari: 7/347)
And Allah knows best.

(2)
It should be clear that on the tenth day, after stoning the Jamarat, the restrictions of ihram are somewhat relaxed, provided that the Tawaf al-Ziyarah is performed before sunset.
If one does not perform the tawaf before sunset, the restrictions of ihram will return, and then after performing the Tawaf al-Ziyarah, one will exit ihram.
(Sunan Abi Dawud, Manasik, Hadith: 1999)
Hazrat Umm Salamah radi Allahu anha says that on the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah, the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam came to her, and Wahb bin Zam‘ah was wearing a shirt.
He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam asked:
“Have you performed the Tawaf al-Ifadah?” He replied:
“No.”
He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said:
“Take off the shirt and put on the ihram; this concession is only if the tawaf is performed before evening.”
(Sunan Abi Dawud, Manasik, Hadith: 1999)
