(Note: There is no hadith in this chapter.)
And Ubaidullah said that Nafi‘ informed me, and Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) said to him that if someone hunts while in ihram and has to pay compensation, then he should not eat from the compensatory animal or the vowed animal, but may eat from all the rest. And ‘Ata said: He should eat from the sacrifice of tamattu‘ and feed others.
Narrated Ibn Juraij: `Ata' said, "I heard Jabir bin `Abdullah saying, 'We never ate the meat of the Budn for more than three days of Mina. Later, the Prophet gave us permission by saying: 'Eat and take (meat) with you. So we ate (some) and took (some) with us.' " I asked `Ata', "Did Jabir say (that they went on eating the meat) till they reached Medina?" `Ata' replied, "No."

Hadith Commentary:
That is, Jabir (radi Allahu anhu) did not say that we kept that meat as provisions until we reached Madinah, but in the narration of Muslim, ‘Ata said “yes” instead of “no.” Perhaps ‘Ata forgot and first said “no,” then remembered and started saying “yes.”
From this hadith, the hadith in which it is forbidden to keep the meat of the sacrifice (qurbani) for more than three days is abrogated.

Hadith Commentary:
(1)
In the narration of Sahih Muslim, it is mentioned that when Ibn Jurayj asked, ‘Ata bin Abi Rabah replied: “Yes, Jabir (radi Allahu anhu) said: ‘Yes, until we reached Madinah.’ Perhaps ‘Ata forgot at first and did not say it, then when he remembered, he began to say yes.”

(2)
From this hadith, it is understood that the hadith in which it was prohibited to keep the meat of the sacrifice (udhiyah) for more than three days has been abrogated. In fact, at the beginning of Islam, some people came to the city from the outskirts of Madinah Tayyibah, and it was the day of Eid al-Adha. They were very poor. Their condition was extremely pitiable. Seeing them, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “You may eat the meat of the sacrifice for only three days, and whatever remains after that, give it in charity.” When that year passed, the people said: “O Messenger of Allah! People used to make water skins from the hides of the sacrifices and store fat and so on in them.” He (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “What is the matter now?” The people said: “You prohibited us from consuming the meat of the sacrifice after three days.” He (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “I only prohibited it last year because of the poor people who had come from the villages, so that there would be plenty of meat left for them. Now you are permitted to eat, give in charity, and store the meat of the sacrifice.” (Sahih Muslim, al-Adahi, Hadith: 5103(1971))
