Narrated `Aisha: I know how the Prophet used to say (Talbiya) and it was: 'Labbaika Allahumma Labbaik, Labbaika la sharika Laka labbaik, Inna-l-hamda wan-ni'mata Laka walmu Lk, La sharika Laka'.

Hadith Commentary:
(1)
The wisdom in the legislation of the Talbiyah is that Allah, the Exalted, honors His servants when He invites them to His House, and they present themselves as a delegation, as guests.
(Fath al-Bari: 3/516)
(2)
The meaning of the Talbiyah is to respond to the call of Ibrahim (alayhis salam).
Its details are explained as follows: When Ibrahim (alayhis salam) finished the construction of the House of Allah (the Ka'bah), he was commanded to announce the pilgrimage (Hajj) to the people.
Ibrahim (alayhis salam) said:
“O Allah! How will my voice reach the people across the earth?” Allah, the Exalted, replied:
“Your duty is to make the announcement, and conveying it to the people is My responsibility.”
After this, Ibrahim (alayhis salam) made the announcement in these words:
“O people! The pilgrimage to the Ancient House (Bayt Atiq) has been made obligatory upon you.”
All the people residing in the heavens and the earth heard this announcement.
Do you not see that people from all corners of the earth come to the House of Allah, proclaiming the Talbiyah?
(al-Mustadrak lil-Hakim: 2/388, there is some criticism regarding the chain of this narration.)
In another narration, it is stated that whoever responded to the call of Ibrahim (alayhis salam) will surely perform the pilgrimage to the House of Allah.
(Fath al-Bari: 3/516)
There is also some criticism regarding the chain of this narration.
Some narrations indicate that it is permissible to add to the words of the Talbiyah; however, it is better to suffice with the Talbiyah of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
(3)
The corroboration of Abu Mu'awiyah has been mentioned by Imam Musaddad in his Musnad.
Similarly, the narration of Shu'bah has been mentioned by Abu Dawud al-Tayalisi; in this narration, the words “la sharika laka” are not present.
Imam Bukhari (rahimahullah) has mentioned this narration to establish the hearing (sama') of Abu Atiyyah from Aisha (radi Allahu anha).
