Hadith Commentary:
(1)
Although in this hadith there is mention of giving someone a ride from the plain of Arafat to Muzdalifah and from Muzdalifah to Mina, this can be done throughout the entire journey of Hajj. Ibn Munir states that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) seated Al-Fadl ibn Abbas and Usamah ibn Zayd (radi Allahu anhuma) behind him one after the other so that whatever rulings of Hajj were revealed by Allah during this time, or whatever the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) performed, these individuals could memorize them well and convey them to others. (Fath al-Bari: 3/510)
(2)
From this hadith, it is understood that the talbiyah should be stopped after the stoning of Jamrat al-Aqabah on the tenth day. Thus, Al-Fadl ibn Abbas (radi Allahu anhu) narrates that I was with you (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) from the plain of Arafat. You continued to recite the talbiyah until, after throwing the last pebble at Jamrat al-Aqabah, you stopped reciting the talbiyah. (Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah: 4/282)
Also, from this hadith, the permissibility is established of seating someone behind you on a riding animal, provided that the animal can bear the load.
