Hadith 1537

وَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا : يَشَمُّ الْمُحْرِمُ الرَّيْحَانَ , وَيَنْظُرُ فِي الْمِرْآةِ , وَيَتَدَاوَى بِمَا يَأْكُلُ الزَّيْتِ وَالسَّمْنِ , وَقَالَ عَطَاءٌ : يَتَخَتَّمُ وَيَلْبَسُ الْهِمْيَانَ وَطَافَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ وَقَدْ حَزَمَ عَلَى بَطْنِهِ بِثَوْبٍ وَلَمْ تَرَ عَائِشَةُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا بِالتُّبَّانِ بَأْسًا لِلَّذِينَ يَرْحَلُونَ هَوْدَجَهَا .
And Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that a Muhrim (one in the state of Ihram) may smell fragrant flowers. Likewise, he may look into a mirror, and things that are eaten may also be used as medicine, such as olive oil and ghee, etc. And Ata said that a Muhrim may wear a ring and tie a money belt. Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) performed Tawaf while he was in Ihram, but he had tied a cloth around his belly. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) saw no harm in wearing a corset. Abu Abdullah (Imam Bukhari, may Allah have mercy on him) said that Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) meant this ruling for those who used to fasten her howdah onto the camel.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا يَدَّهِنُ بِالزَّيْتِ ، فَذَكَرْتُهُ لِإِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : مَا تَصْنَعُ ؟ , بِقَوْلِهِ :
Narrated Sa`id bin Jubair: Ibn `Umar used to oil his hair. I told that to Ibrahim who said, "What do you think about this statement:
