Explanation & Benefits
Maulana Dawood Raz
Hadith Commentary:
The purpose of Imam Bukhari rahimahullah in bringing these hadiths is to show that performing Hajj both on foot and while riding is valid.
Some have said that this is a refutation of those who claim that performing Hajj on foot is superior. If that were the case, then the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would have performed Hajj on foot as well, but he performed Hajj while riding a she-camel, and following the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is the most virtuous of all actions.
(Wahidi)
In place of camels, nowadays motorcars have taken their place, and now Hajj has become extremely comfortable.

Hadith Commentary:
(1)
Both riding and walking during the journey of Hajj are permissible.
Some people believe that performing Hajj on foot is more virtuous.
Imam Bukhari rahimahullah has refuted this view, stating that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam performed Hajj while riding his she-camel, and following him is the most virtuous.
There is also the merit of spending (wealth) in this, because spending during the journey of Hajj is equivalent to spending in the way of Allah (fi sabilillah).
Traveling on camels has now become a thing of the past; in their place, excellent and comfortable cars and airplanes have come, and even during Hajj, comfort is available at every step.
By the grace and bounty of Allah, the Saudi government has opened the doors of its treasures.
They do not show any kind of stinginess in providing facilities to the honored pilgrims.
May Allah reward them all with the best of rewards. Nevertheless, even now, the journey of Hajj is no less than jihad, provided that it is not made a means of recreation and sightseeing.

The hadith of Anas radi Allahu anhu has itself been narrated by Imam Bukhari rahimahullah with his connected chain.
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Book of Hajj, Hadith: 1546)
Similarly, the hadith of Ibn Abbas radi Allahu anhu has also been narrated with a connected chain before the narration of Anas radi Allahu anhu, which is part of a lengthy hadith.
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Book of Hajj, Hadith: 1545)
