Hadith 596
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُقْرِئِ ، قَالَ : ثنا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لا يُمْنَعُ فَضْلُ الْمَاءِ لِيُمْنَعَ بِهِ الْكَلأُ " ، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ : " وَثَلاثٌ لا يُمْنَعُهُنَّ : الْمَاءُ ، وَالْكَلأُ ، وَالنَّارُ " .
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Do not withhold excess water to prevent (the growth of) grass." Sufyan ibn ‘Uyaynah (may Allah have mercy on him) says: "Water, grass, and fire—do not prevent (anyone) from these three things."
