حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : ثَنَا النُّفَيْلِيُّ ، قَالَ : ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : ثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبَّادٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَبَّادٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، قَالَتْ : " لَمَّا أَرَادُوا غُسْلَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ ، فَقَالُوا : وَاللَّهِ مَا نَدْرِي ، أَنُجَرِّدُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ ثِيَابِهِ كَمَا نُجَرِّدُ مَوْتَانَا أَوْ نَغْسِلُهُ وَعَلَيْهِ ثِيَابُهُ ؟ قَالَتْ : فَلَمَّا اخْتَلَفُوا أَلْقَى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمُ النَّوْمَ حَتَّى مَا مِنْهُمْ رَجُلٌ إِلا وَذَقْنُهُ فِي صَدْرِهِ ، ثُمَّ كَلَّمَهُمْ مُكَلَّمٌ مِنْ نَاحِيَةِ الْبَيْتِ لا يَدْرُونَ مَنْ هُوَ أَنِ اغْسِلُوا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعَلَيْهِ قَمِيصُهُ ، قَالَتْ : فَقَامُوا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَغْسِلُونَهُ وَعَلَيْهِ قَمِيصُهُ ، يَصُبُّونَ الْمَاءَ فَوْقَ الْقَمِيصِ وَيُدَلِّكُونَهُ بِالْقَمِيصِ دُونَ أَيْدِيهِمْ ، قَالَ : وَكَانَتْ عَائِشَةُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، تَقُولُ : لَوِ اسْتَقْبَلْتُ مِنْ أَمْرِي مَا اسْتَدْبَرْتُ مَا غَسَلَهُ إِلا نِسَاؤُهُ ، فَلَمَّا فُرِغَ مِنْ غُسْلِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كُفِّنَ فِي ثَلاثَةِ أَثْوَابٍ صَحَارِيِّينَ وَبُرْدِ حَبَرَةٍ أُدْرِجَ فِيهِنَّ إِدْرَاجًا " ، كَمَا حَدَّثَنِي جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ ، وَالزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ .
Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, he said: Al-Nufayli narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, he said: Yahya ibn ‘Abbad narrated to me, from his father ‘Abbad, from Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, she said: "When they wanted to wash the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, they differed concerning him, and they said: By Allah, we do not know, should we strip the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, of his clothes as we strip our dead, or should we wash him while he is in his clothes? She said: When they differed, Allah cast sleep upon them until there was not a man among them except that his chin was on his chest. Then a speaker spoke to them from the side of the house, and they did not know who he was, saying: Wash the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, while he is in his shirt. She said: So they stood up to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, to wash him while he was in his shirt, pouring water over the shirt and rubbing him with the shirt instead of with their hands. She said: And Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, used to say: If I had faced from my affair what I have faced now, none would have washed him except his wives. When they finished washing the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, he was shrouded in three Sahari garments and a striped Hibara cloak, in which he was wrapped completely," as Ja‘far ibn Muhammad narrated to me, from his father, from his grandfather Ali ibn al-Husayn, and al-Zuhri, from Ali ibn Husayn, may Allah be pleased with them.
