Hadith 416
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، أَنَّ رَجُلا نَادَى ، فَقَالَ " يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَا يَجْتَنِبُ الْمُحْرِمُ مِنَ الثِّيَابِ ؟ فَقَالَ : " لا يَلْبَسُ السَّرَاوِيلَ ، وَلا الْقَمِيصَ ، وَلا البُرْنُسَ ، وَلا الْعِمَامَةَ ، وَلا ثَوْبًا مَسَّهُ زَعْفَرَانٌ ، وَلا وَرْسٌ ، وَلْيُحْرِمْ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي إِزَارٍ ، وَرِدَاءٍ ، وَنَعْلَيْنِ ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسْ خُفَّيْنِ وَلْيَقْطَعْهُمَا حَتَّى يَكُونَا إِلَى الْعَقِبَيْنِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that a man asked in a loud voice: O Messenger of Allah! Which clothes should a Muhrim avoid? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A Muhrim cannot wear trousers, shirts, caps (that cling to the head), or turbans, nor any cloth dyed with saffron or wars (a type of grass used for dyeing). During Ihram, use an izar (waist-wrapper), a sheet, and sandals; if sandals are not available, then wear socks after cutting them below the ankles.
