Abdullah bin Zaid bin Asim (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went out with the people for the prayer of Istisqa (prayer for rain). He led them in two rak‘ahs with loud recitation, turned his cloak (i.e., shifted the right side to the left), faced the Qiblah, raised his hands, and supplicated for rain.
