Hadith 273

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said that just as I saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performing prayer, in exactly the same way I do not leave out anything when leading you in prayer. Thabit (the narrator of the hadith) stated that Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) used to do an act which I do not see you doing: when he would raise his head from bowing (ruku‘), he would remain standing for so long that an onlooker would think he had forgotten, and similarly, between the two prostrations (sajdahs), he would sit for so long that an onlooker would think he had forgotten.
