Hadith 183

Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that when the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to perform ghusl after janabah, he would have something like a vessel brought. Then he would take a handful (of water) in his hand and begin washing from the right side of his head, then wash the left side. Then he would place both his hands in the middle of his head (i.e., pour water over his head with both hands).
