Hazrat Abu Humaid Sa’idi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that we were going for the expedition of Tabuk with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). When he passed through Wadi al-Qura (an ancient settlement between Madinah Munawwarah and Syria), our eyes fell upon a woman who was standing in her orchard. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the companions (may Allah be pleased with them all), “Estimate the yield of her fruits (how many dates will come out of it).” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) estimated it to be ten wasqs. Then he said to the woman, “Remember, however many dates come out of it.” When we reached Tabuk, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Tonight there will be a very strong wind, so no one should remain standing, and those who have camels should tie them.” So we tied the camels, and a very strong wind came. There was a man who was standing, and the wind threw him onto Mount Tay. The ruler of Aylah (Yuhanna bin Rubah) sent the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) a gift of a white mule and a cloak. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) confirmed his rule in writing. Then, when he reached Wadi al-Qura (on the return), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked the same woman, “How much fruit did your orchard yield?” She said, “According to your estimate, ten wasqs came out.” After that, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “I wish to return to Madinah quickly, so whoever wants to travel quickly with me should depart with me.” Then, when Madinah became visible, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “This is Taba!” Then he saw Mount Uhud and said, “This mountain loves us and we love it.” Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Shall I not point out the best family among the Ansar?” The companions said, “Please do.” He said, “The family of Banu Najjar, then the family of Banu ‘Abd al-Ashhal, then the family of Banu Sa’idah, or (he said) the family of Banu Harith bin Khazraj.” And he said, “There is goodness in all the families of the Ansar.”
