Hadith 1326

Jabalah narrated that we were residing in Madinah with some people from Iraq. There we had to face famine. Abdullah bin Zubair used to send us dates to eat, and whenever Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, passed by us, he would say that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade joining two dates together and eating them at the same time when eating with other people, except if one of you seeks permission from his brother.
